Hearts could cash in on winger Islam Chesnokov four months after signing him in the winter window.

The Kazakhstan international was pursued since January 2025 and the Tynecastle club were able to bring him in a year later after his contract at Tobol Kastanay in his homeland expired.

Head coach Derek McInnes had high hopes for the 26-year-old but, to date, he hasn't had the impact hoped for with just five of his 11 appearance coming as starts, scoring on goal against Falkirk.

There is now transfer interest in Chesnokov from back in Kazakhstand, as per Hearts Standard.

Hearts and the player are expected to take some time to make their decision.

They are currently dealing with the blow of losing captain Lawrence Shankland, who is on the verge of signing for Rangers.

St Johnstone winger Josh McPake is Gorgie-bound on a pre-contract, as is French midfielder Tom Renaud from Versailles. Attempts are also being made to add winger Calvin Miller from Falkirk.
