GOP-led House committee asks DOJ to investigate two Epstein associates

  • A Republican-led House committee has referred former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine and hairstylist Frédéric Fekkai to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution, based on sexual assault allegations from a survivor of Jeffrey Epstein 's abuse .
  • The referral follows an interview with Sarah Kellen, Epstein's former assistant, who testified to the House Oversight Committee on May 21 about the "horrific abuse she endured for years" involving Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
  • Committee Chair James Comer stated that Kellen provided "new information crucial to our investigation" and that these "serious allegations of criminal misconduct" have been passed to the Justice Department for investigation.
  • According to a newly released transcript of her testimony, Kellen accused both Levine and Fekkai of sexually assaulting her in separate incidents, and also accused French fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier of exposing himself to her.
  • While Levine's name appears frequently in Epstein-related documents and Fekkai is described as a "close friend" involved in "grooming schemes," none of the men have been charged with a crime in connection with Epstein, and their inclusion in the files is not evidence of wrongdoing.
