Rue?! When Does Euphoria Season 3 Drop?! Here’s Exactly When The New Episodes Land

After a whopping four years away from screens, the return of Euphoria for its third (and likely final) season is officially upon us.

A lot has happened in the time since Euphoria‘s last outing, from rumours of it being cancelled to offscreen controversies and some tragic cast deaths.

So, in anticipation of the season three premiere, we’re catching you up to speed on all there is to know about Euphoria. Take the season three crash-course below.

Is there a Euphoria season 3 trailer?

Yes! We’ve actually been blessed with two full length trailers and a teaser. The most recent offering finds our morally dubious characters in the midst of absolute chaos, with Rue (played by Zendaya) seen swallowing bags of unknown drugs and facing interrogation from officers in Mexico.

Meanwhile, Jules (Hunter Schafer) is trying to make it big as an artist with a side-hustle as a sugar baby, as Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) pursues her life as cam girl with Nate (Jacob Elordi) behind the lens. We also get a glimpse at Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Lexi (Maude Apatow), the latter of whom has relocated to Hollywood!

The trailer also featured Eric Dane, who portrays Nate’s dad Cal. Dane went back to work on season three despite battling ALS during filming. He died from the illness in February, with Euphoria being one of his last-ever screen appearances.

Before the trailers, HBO offered us a glimpse at all the key characters ahead of the new season with first-look images.

From what we can see, the gang is just as watchable as ever. Feast your eyes below!

When is the Euphoria season 3 release date?

Afters years of delays, HBO finally revealed Euphoria‘s season three release date in January. The latest batch of episodes will hit the streaming service in Australia on April 13, 2026, at around 11am. The season consists of eight total episodes, which will air weekly from the premiere onwards.

Bad news for binge-watchers, but you could always bank them up for one mammoth (and likely taxing) sitting when the finale airs on May 31, 2026.

The new instalment arrives more than four years after season two, with the lengthy delay put down to everything from the pandemic, to the writers strike and major changes among the cast.

What is the plot of Euphoria season 3?

We do know that new Euphoria episodes will take place after a five-year time jump from the events of last season. That means our characters are out of high school and facing all-new circumstances as they become adults, with the trailer offering us a few clues as to what that looks like for the gang.

Based on the trailer, Rue is still evading her debt to the ever-sinister Laurie (Martha Kelly), which we got the groundwork for last season. Euphoria creator Sam Levinson also teased what’s in store for Cassie and Nate, confirming the pair are getting married, which we got glimpses of in the new trailer.

For their part, Lexi and Maddie are both working in Hollywood, while Jules tries to get her big break as an artist. “Five years felt like a natural place because, if they’d gone to college, they’d be out of college at that time,” Levinson said. “It’s our best season yet.”

Beyond that, we do have the new season’s official logline, which is as enticing as it is vague. “A group of childhood friends wrestle with the virtue of faith, the possibility of redemption, and the problem of evil,” it reads. Get ready for whatever that entails!

Who is in the cast of Euphoria season 3?

The Euphoria cast has been somewhat of a rotating door since season two aired. As mentioned, most of the core cast are back, including Zendaya, Sweeney, Apatow, Demie, Elordi, Dane and Schafer. Fellow familiar faces like Dominic Fike and Colman Domingo are also back for season three, and they’ll be joined by a bunch of newcomers.

The all-new stars for season three include Sharon Stone, Natasha Lyonne and Trisha Paytas, though the extent of their roles is not yet known. Paytas’ surprise casting was confirmed last year, while Stone celebrated her involvement by saying she is “honoured to be euphoric”.

The major players who you won’t see in season three are Barbie Ferreira, who played Kat in seasons one and two, as well as Rue’s sister (Storm Reid) and mother (Nika King). Angus Cloud, who tragically passed away in 2023, also won’t appear in season three.

There’s a whole bunch of lore around the casting for Euphoria season three, and you can get the full rundown HERE.

We’ll be sure to keep you across any other updates as they arise. But in the meantime, prepare yourself for what’s bound to be a chaotic ride. Euphoria season three lands on HBO Max in Australia on April 13.
