- An NHS doctor, Dr Baraa Almasri, has been struck off the medical register for encouraging his roommate, Marius Gustavson, in carrying out illegal fetishistic amputations.
- Gustavson, known as the ‘eunuch maker’, performed procedures including freezing and amputating limbs, illegal castrations, and cooking human testicles in their London flat.
- Text’s revealed Dr Almasri viewed Gustavson’s behaviour as a “source of humour” and expressed interest in helping with the website and procedures, despite knowing the victims often had treatable problems.
- Dr Almasri, who came to the UK in 2019, failed to intervene or report Gustavson to the police, even after exchanging graphic images and discussing the activities.
- Gustavson was jailed for life with a minimum of 22 years in 2024, which generated over £300,000, and Dr Almasri's conduct was deemed "fundamentally incompatible with continued registration" by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service.
