Eco activists ram Antarctic trawler in anti-whaling ‘terrorist attack’

  • Anti-whaling activists rammed their vessel, the M/V Bandero, into a Norwegian krill trawler off Antarctica on Tuesday, 31 March.
  • Aker BioMarine CEO Matts Johansen labelled the incident a "terrorist attack", claiming activists cut fishing lines and almost hit a diesel tank.

  • Activist Paul Watson, founder of the Captain Paul Watson Foundation, disagreed with the "terrorist attack" label, stating the action aimed to draw attention to and stop the trawler's "ecologically destructive operations".
