Easter egg hunt leaves three dead after tree topples from high winds

  • Three individuals, including a 10-month-old baby, a 21-year-old woman, and a 16-year-old girl, tragically died in northern Germany.
  • The fatalities occurred when a 30-metre tree was toppled by high winds during an Easter egg hunt on Sunday.
  • Around 50 people from a nearby residential facility for new mothers, pregnant women, and children were participating in the event.
  • A high-winds warning had been issued for the area, and an 18-year-old woman sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital.
  • Grief counsellors were dispatched to the site, with the baby succumbing to her injuries in hospital after initially being trapped.
