Earthquake rocks England camp ahead of World Cup friendly in Orlando

  • England 's football team, currently in West Palm Beach for World Cup preparations, experienced a 6.1-magnitude earthquake a day before their final warm-up match.
  • The earthquake, the strongest in the region for 150 years, originated off the west coast of Cuba but caused tremors across Florida, including Orlando and Miami .
  • Several buildings in affected cities were evacuated due to the shaking, though the National Weather Service confirmed there was no tsunami risk to the US.
  • The US Geological Survey indicated that aftershocks are expected following an earthquake of this magnitude.
  • England had previously beaten New Zealand 1-0 in Tampa and are scheduled to play Costa Rica in Orlando before travelling to their main World Cup base in Kansas City, Missouri.
