CUET UG 2026 cancelled after NEET row? Here’s what NTA said and what we know so far

National Testing Agency (NTA) officially cancelled NEET UG 2026, triggering a wave of panic, memes, confusion, and nonstop speculation around another major entrance exam currently underway: CUET UG 2026.

Searches like:

  • “Is CUET cancelled?”
  • “CUET UG 2026 paper leak?”
  • “Will NTA reconduct CUET too?”
  • “CUET exam safe or not?”

have exploded online ever since the NEET announcement dropped.

But here is the important part students need to know: As of now, CUET UG 2026 has NOT been cancelled.

NTA has made no announcement about cancelling CUET UG 2026, postponing the exam, or conducting a re-test.

And right now, the examination process is continuing as scheduled.

Why students suddenly got worried

The panic started after NTA cancelled NEET UG 2026, saying the integrity of the examination process had been compromised following allegations linked to malpractice and a suspected paper leak investigation.

That announcement hit hard because NEET is one of the biggest entrance exams in the country, with lakhs of students spending months — sometimes years — preparing for it.

So when students saw an exam of that scale being cancelled completely, many immediately started wondering whether other NTA-conducted exams could also face disruption.

CUET UG 2026 exams are currently ongoing.

What is happening with CUET UG 2026 right now?

CUET UG 2026 examinations are continuing, and Day 3 of the exam was conducted on Tuesday across multiple centres in the country.

Students appear for the exam shared shift-wise.

Meanwhile, NTA has not released any statement about enough cancelling the exam.

At this stage, all official schedules remain active.

Over the last few years, major entrance exams have repeatedly faced controversies involving:

  • Technical glitches
  • Server crashes
  • City allocation complaints
  • Admit card confusion
  • Exam postponements
  • Alleged paper leaks.

What CUET UG aspirants should do now

For now, candidates appearing for CUET UG 2026 should rely only on official NTA communication channels and continue preparing according to the existing schedule.

No fresh notification has been issued regarding:

  • Cancellation
  • Re-examination
  • Postponement
  • Paper leak confirmation

And for students already exhausted from entrance exam pressure, these confusions may be becoming almost as stressful as the exams themselves.
