Children flee as school shelter collapses during deadly 7.8-magnitude earthquake in Philippines

New video from the Philippines shows children fleeing as a shelter at their elementary school collapses during a 7.8-magnitude earthquake.

Footage released by Deped Mahayahay Elementary School in Mahayahay shows the youngsters fleeing when the metal structure falls close to where they are gathered, as the earth visibly shakes.

Teachers at the Lumigo Integrated School can also be seen on video sheltering their students as they sat on the shaking ground away from buildings.

At least 19 people have been killed and 12 others remain missing after the earthquake struck in southern Philippines on Monday morning (June 8).
