CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education on Tuesday dismissed concerns over major technical issues on its Class 12 re-evaluation portal after several students complained online about login failures and portal crashes.
While many students took to X to report problems accessing the system, the board maintained that the portal was functioning properly and that only a limited number of complaints had been received earlier in the day.
Students Report Login Problems on CBSE Re-Evaluation Portal
Soon after the re-evaluation and answer sheet verification process opened, several students claimed they were unable to log in, submit applications, or access pages on the CBSE portal. Some users alleged that the website had crashed due to heavy traffic.
However, CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj said the issues appeared temporary and were not linked to any major technical failure.
“Sometimes when candidates open the same page, an earlier saved page opens again. I asked them to restart the computer. After that, no phone calls have been received by me,” Bhardwaj told PTI.
CBSE Denies Major Technical Glitches
Bhardwaj insisted that the portal was operating normally and said he had personally tested the system.
“From my side, it is functioning properly. Even as a dummy candidate, I submitted an application, and it was submitted correctly,” he said.
He also suggested that some of the issues may have been caused by weak internet connections on the users’ end rather than problems with the website itself.
The CBSE official further clarified that the CAPTCHA feature had been removed after students reported that it was not appearing properly on the portal.
CBSE Says NIC Monitoring Website Performance
Responding to speculation that the website slowdown may have been caused by increased traffic following the opening of the re-evaluation process, Bhardwaj rejected the claim.
“I don't think so because the National Informatics Centre (NIC) is taking care of our website, and everything is going well from their point of view also. One team is looking after this entire work at the NIC also,” he said.
He advised students facing temporary issues to wait for some time and try again later.
“If sometimes they are not able to do it, it is not that they will continue to remain on the application for a longer period. They can wait and then submit again,” he added.
CBSE Opens Class 12 Re-Evaluation and Verification Window
The board officially began the application process for Class 12 answer sheet verification and re-evaluation on Tuesday following concerns raised by students and parents regarding the On-Screen Marking system.
Students can apply for re-evaluation and verification between May 19 and May 22.
CBSE also confirmed that students will be able to access their rechecked answer sheets from May 26 to May 29.
CBSE Reduces Fees for Viewing and Rechecking Answer Sheets
This year, the board has significantly reduced the fees for students seeking access to their answer sheets.
Students who wish to view their evaluated answer sheets will now have to pay Rs 100 instead of the earlier Rs 700 fee. Verification or validation requests will also cost Rs 100 instead of Rs 500.
Additionally, students requesting rechecking of specific answers will be charged Rs 25 per question.
The revised fee structure has been welcomed by many students and parents, especially amid growing concerns about transparency in the evaluation process.
