Cavaliers star James Harden arrested in Texas on gun charge

  • Cleveland Cavaliers star James Harden was arrested in Houston , Texas , on Saturday morning on a gun charge.
  • Harden, 36, was taken into custody around 3 a.m. during a traffic stop and was booked on one misdemeanor count of unlawfully carrying weapons.
  • The California native is accused of “unlawfully, intentionally and knowingly” having a gun in his car, which was unholstered and “in plain view,” according to a copy of the complaint obtained by The New York Post. Harden had been at a hookah lounge prior to the arrest , the outlet reported.
  • The basketball star was released after paying a $100 bond and is scheduled for arraignment on June 22, with bond conditions prohibiting weapons, drugs, or alcohol, and requiring urine testing.
  • The Cleveland Cavaliers stated they are aware of the arrest, are gathering additional information, and are in contact with Harden and his representatives.
