Boy, 3, dies after falling from block of flats in south London

A three-year-old boy has died after falling from height at a block of flats in south London.

The toddler fell from the second-storey window in Sutton on Sunday evening, according to witnesses.

Emergency services, including officers from the Metropolitan Police and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene.

The child was taken to hospital where he sadly died.

A woman in her 30s has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect and remains in police custody.

Enquiries into the tragic incident continue.

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called at 17:18hrs on Sunday, 24 May to reports a child had fallen from height from a home address in Sutton.

“A three-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment where he sadly died. His next of kin are aware.

“A woman in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of child neglect and remains in custody.

“Enquiries into the circumstances continue.”
