Bagel chain recalls cream cheese over undeclared allergen

  • Schreiber Foods, Inc. has recalled 144 cups of Honey Almond Cream Cheese Spread sold under the Einstein Bros. Bagels brand.
  • The recall is due to mislabeling, as the product was packaged in cups marked "Plain" but contained almonds, an undeclared allergen.
  • This poses a serious health risk for individuals with almond allergies, potentially causing severe or life-threatening reactions.
  • The affected cream cheese, with a "Best If Used By" date of Jul 21, 2026, was distributed to Einstein Bros. Bagel locations in Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming.
  • Consumers are advised to return the recalled product to the place of purchase for a full refund, though no illnesses have been reported to date.
