A LONG-ESTABLISHED and award-winning grassroots music venue just outside Glasgow has been put up for sale.
Located in Paisley’s town centre, The Bungalow is regarded as a “key” music venue for up-and-coming Scottish talent, along with established artists.
Originally, The Bungalow opened on Renfrew Road in the 70s and hosted some big-name acts including The Clash, The Jam, Echo, and the Bunnymen, The Fall and The Skids.
The business then moved to its current location on Shuttle Street in 2008, where the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Paolo Nutini, Jerry Rafferty, and the Blockheads helped “inspire up and coming bands to fulfill their musical talents and dreams”.
The venue’s website added that it does not “support any form of Pay to Play or unethical practices within our venue”, adding that they “aim for; artists, customers, and staff alike to be treated with an equal degree of respect and such a practice is unwelcome here”.
It added: “We always aim for gig tickets to be as cheap as possible however, you will probably find most of our events are free!”
The live music venue has a large open‑plan main performance space and raised stage area along with an integrated bar.
It has now been put up for sale with an asking price of £190,000.
The venue is described on its website as “well known for our relaxed atmosphere and laid-back attitudes, not to mention having the friendliest team of staff (we feel) on the planet”.
Tony Spence, associate director at Christie & Co, who is managing the sale process, said the sale offers an “exciting opportunity” for investors looking to grow their portfolios or invest for the first time.
He said: “We are delighted to be marketing the investment sale of The Bungalow in Paisley.
“This opportunity offers a great return on your investment and benefits from having an experienced operator in situ who have very recently extended their lease by 10 years. Please get in touch for further information.”
