At least 15 injured after suspected impaired driver plows through parade

  • At least 15 people were injured, with two airlifted to hospitals, after an allegedly intoxicated driver plowed into a crowd celebrating the Lao New Year in Lanexang Village, Louisiana.
  • Todd Landry, 57, faces 18 counts of first-degree negligent injuring, driving while impaired, and careless operation of a vehicle.
  • The incident occurred on Saturday during the annual Songkran event, one of the largest gatherings of its kind in the U.S.
  • Police do not believe the incident was intentional based on a preliminary investigation.
  • Festival events, which were scheduled to last through Sunday, were canceled for the rest of Saturday following the incident for public safety.
