Ashok Leyland secures order for 715 vehicles from VRL Logistics

Chennai: Chennai-based commercial vehicle major Ashok Leyland on Monday announced that it has bagged a significant order for 715 vehicles from domestic logistics major VRL Logistics.

The financial details of the order were not disclosed.

The order comprises a mix of AVTR 3120 haulage trucks, BOSS 1615 trucks, and Oyster staff buses, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.

The Hinduja Group flagship company stated that the contract marks a significant step in strengthening its decades-long partnership with VRL Logistics.

Deliveries under the contract are already progressing as planned, with 300 trucks having been delivered so far. The remaining 415 vehicles are scheduled to be delivered within the current year, the company added.

"The fresh order of 715 vehicles marks a strategic deepening of our partnership to drive higher logistics efficiency," VRL Logistics Managing Director Anand Sankeshwar said.

Commenting on the development, Ashok Leyland National Sales Head (MHCV) Madhavi Deshmukh said, "Over the years, VRL has worked closely with us in developing new products and features tailored to the emerging needs of customers in the logistics industry. This order win is a testament to the trust and confidence VRL Logistics have in Ashok Leyland's technology and performance."

According to the statement, the newly ordered vehicles are equipped with advanced technologies engineered to reduce maintenance downtime, enhance fleet productivity, and improve operational profitability for the logistics firm.
