Arsenal players greeted by fans in early hours of morning outside Emirates Stadium after title party

Several Arsenal players joined fans outside the Emirates Stadium in the early hours of Wednesday morning as the celebrations for their first Premier League title in 22 years continued long into the night.

Thousands of fans thronged the streets outside the Emirates, setting off flares and fireworks to celebrate the club’s 14th top-flight trophy.

Gunners legend Ian Wright was among those to join the party, popping champagne and being mobbed by fans outside the stadium.

The Arsenal players watched Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Bournemouth, which confirmed them as title winners, from their training ground in Hertfordshire.

Celebrations erupted at the final whistle as players and staff jumped for joy, while those leaving the training base later that night had their cars swarmed by ecstatic fans.

Mikel Arteta was absent from the celebrations as he watched the game at home with his family, while for some of the players the party moved out into the streets of north London as they joined fans still enjoying themselves in the early hours.

Eberechi Eze posted a picture outside the stadium alongside Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber and Bukayo Saka in the early hours of Wednesday morning, while footage emerged of the players speaking to fans at 5am and Rice organising a group photo to commemorate the moment.

Eze’s Instagram post also featured an image of Arsenal-branded water bottle, a reference to frequent criticism over the past three seasons - in which the Gunners have finished runners-up each time - that the club has “bottled’ the run-in to the end of the season and failed to claim the title.
