Ankush Bahuguna Opens Up About Facing Remarks in London Over His Outfit

The influencer, known for challenging gender stereotypes through fashion and makeup content, recently shared an uncomfortable experience he faced while walking on the streets of London. His video has since gone viral, drawing support from social media users as well as actor Swara Bhasker.

Ankush Bahuguna Shares What Happened

According to Ankush, the incident took place while he was dressed in a pink outfit during an outing in London. He revealed that a group of men passed comments about his appearance and mocked the way he was dressed.

In the video, Ankush recalled hearing remarks such as, “Welcome to the parade,” which left him feeling uncomfortable and disappointed.

“It’s 2026” — Ankush Reacts to the Incident

Speaking candidly about the experience, Ankush expressed shock that such reactions still occur over something as simple as clothing color choices.

“It’s 2026 for f***’s sake, and this is what happens on the street if you just wear pink,” he said in the video.

The creator also admitted that he expected a more accepting atmosphere from a global city like London. He shared that he believed the city would be more progressive and open-minded, but the incident made him question that assumption.

“You think this is London; it would be more progressive, more open-minded… clearly not,” he added.

Mixed Reactions From People Around Him

While the experience was upsetting, Ankush noted that not everyone reacted negatively. He mentioned that several women complimented his outfit during the same outing.

However, he said that certain comments from men and young boys made him feel unsafe and uneasy. Since he was in another country, Ankush decided not to confront anyone and instead focused on avoiding escalation.

Ankush Speaks About Toxic Masculinity

Beyond the incident itself, Ankush used the moment to speak about the broader issue of toxic masculinity and insecurity surrounding gender expression and fashion.

He pointed out that people often judge others simply for dressing differently or stepping outside traditional expectations.

“If a guy just minding his own business… is making you feel uncomfortable, it’s not his masculinity that’s weak,” he said.

Swara Bhasker Extends Support

After the video began circulating online, actor Swara Bhasker reacted to Ankush’s post and expressed solidarity with him.

“Wow! I’m so sorry, Ankush! More power and fabulousness to you,” she wrote.

Social Media Users Rally Behind Ankush

The incident sparked widespread reactions online, with many users supporting Ankush and sharing similar experiences.

One user commented, “I feel your pain viscerally… You are not alone and never change anything.”

Another wrote, “Ignorant people are everywhere. I am sorry this happened to you. Love you, stay you.”

A third user added that living abroad does not automatically mean people are more progressive, emphasizing that prejudice and judgment can exist anywhere.

The conversation around Ankush’s experience has once again brought attention to how fashion and self-expression continue to challenge societal norms, even in places often considered modern and inclusive.
