Cyclops is the new duelist in Marvel Rivals Season 8.5, and his entire kit is built around turning precise optic blasts into massive teamfight pressure.
He’s a mid-range duelist who thrives on consistent damage and clean repositioning. His basic attacks build toward a powerful utility beam, and his cooldown abilities give him tools to kite, peel, and set up kills for his squad.

All Cyclops attacks in Marvel Rivals
Optic Blast (primary fire)
- Type : Rapid, single-shot projectile
- Effect : Fires a quick burst of kinetic force in a straight line. Hitting enemies charges up your Ricochet Force meter faster
Optic Blast is your main basic attack. Think of it as your reliable tap-fire laser, which is fast, accurate, and easy to weave between ability casts. Because each hit speeds up Ricochet Force, you should be actively tagging tanks and frontliners even when you don’t have a kill angle. The more you shoot, the sooner you get access to your big tracking beam.
Concussive Beam (secondary fire)
- Type : Continuous beam
- Effect : Channels a powerful beam that can refract off enemies and parts of the environment. Like Optic Blast, hitting enemies accelerates Ricochet Force charge rate
Concussive Beam is where Cyclops really feels like Cyclops. Hold the button to maintain a constant stream of damage that’s great for tracking movement and melting targets who can’t break line of sight quickly.
Because the beam can refract, it’s especially nasty around corners and inside tight capture points. Hold it on a tank, and anyone hugging it for safety gets clipped too. Try swapping between Optic Blast and Concussive Beam depending on the situation.
Cyclops is absolutely worth investing time into if you enjoy aim-centric DPS heroes with strong utility baked into their kits. He rewards good tracking, map knowledge, and timing; once you’re comfortable juggling his mobility tools and beams, you can control the pace of fights from surprisingly safe positions.
