A motorhome, a £3k robotic lawnmower and a wine coaster: What Peter Murrell bought with embezzled SNP funds

A motorhome, a £3k robotic lawnmower and a silver wine coaster are just some of the items former SNP chief executive Peter Murrell bought using money he embezzled from the party, along with a Jaguar, a £1,200 space telescope and designer salt and pepper shakers costing more than £2,000.

He also bought three designer manicure sets for nearly £294, two toilet seats, a coffee machine for nearly £3,232 and a book of speeches by his now estranged wife, Nicola Sturgeon.

Murrell has pleaded guilty to embezzling over £400,000 from the party, an amended charge that reduced the amount of the embezzled money from more than £459,000.

A 126-page indictment details hundreds of items that Murrell bought using the embezzled funds while photos released by the Crown Office, Scotland’s public prosecution service, showing the motorhome and other items.
